The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a Customer Service Apprentice to join our busy and growing organisation. They will support the inside sales and customer service functions of a manufacturing business. The role is designed to provide hands-on training in managing customer accounts, processing sales orders, and delivering excellent service. The apprentice will learn how to support sales growth, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure a seamless customer experience, while developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in customer services and sales within the manufacturing sector.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Interest in sales and the manufacturing industry.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Enthusiasm for developing a career in sales and customer service.
  • Commitment to completing the apprenticeship training programme
Responsibilities
  • Handle incoming customer enquiries via phone, email, and online platforms in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support the inside sales team by preparing quotations, processing orders, and updating customer records.
  • Learn how to identify customer needs and provide appropriate product/service recommendations.
  • Liaise with production, logistics, and technical teams to ensure accurate order fulfilment and delivery timelines.
  • Assist in maintaining long-term relationships with clients by providing excellent after?sales support.
  • Monitor and track sales orders, ensuring customers are kept informed of progress.
  • Update and maintain the CRM system with customer interactions, enquiries, and sales activity.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training, and the apprenticeship programme to build knowledge of products, processes, and customer service best practices
