Description

BakerHicks is a leading provider of integrated building services engineering, delivering innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient electrical solutions across a wide range of sectors. We are committed to fostering the growth of our employees, offering opportunities for individuals looking to build a rewarding career in electrical engineering.
The core purpose of this role is to bring the built environment to life through the design of the buildings in which we live and work. As an Electrical Building Services Design Engineer, you will ensure that these buildings are designed to accommodate the needs of people, plants, and services, all while ensuring efficiency and sustainability to meet climate control objectives.
In this role, you will be involved in the design and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for building projects. Your responsibilities will include producing high-quality, accurate designs, calculations, modelling, and engineering drawings, all under the supervision of senior Engineers and Technicians.
This position provides a unique opportunity for career development, offering hands-on experience and mentorship from industry professionals.
As part of the role, you will be supported through the Building Services Engineering Degree Apprenticeship. This apprenticeship includes a day-release programme at London South Bank University, beginning in September 2025, where you will undertake theoretical studies in engineering. You will be paired with a learning mentor to guide you through the apprenticeship and the final End Point Assessment (EPA).
Upon completion, apprentices will earn a BSc or BEng degree in Building Services, accredited by the Engineering Council. With a blend of on-the-job training and academic learning, you will work toward fulfilling the requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer.
