Position Summary:  Apprentice Engineers are engineers in training and assist the engineers on duty. This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement with Local 68 (I.U.O.E).  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:    · Re-lamp all interior and exterior light fixtures for NJPAC, Site Office, Military Parking Garage and Lucent Center. · Assist the engineer on duty. · Keep mechanical spaces clean and organized. · Maintain boiler and cooling tower chemical treatment systems. · Report any problems to the engineer on duty. · Perform related duties as assigned.  Qualifications and Special Requirements:   · High school diploma or equivalent required. · Entry Level position. · Must attend Local 68 four-year training program as condition of employment. · Able to lift and carry heavy objects from 50 to 100 pounds. Must have knowledge of the safest methods to be used in performing heavy manual labor. · Required to be or become a member of Local 68 of the International Union of Operating Engineers.  
Responsibilities
Assist engineers on duty with the maintenance of interior and exterior lighting and mechanical spaces. Maintain boiler and cooling tower chemical treatment systems while reporting issues to senior engineers.
