  • Job Title - Apprentice Mechanical Engineer
  • Company Introduction -We are a small engineering company based just outside Dunstable, We have 10 employees, and manufacture a wide range of products in our CNC workshop.
  • Role Summary - You will be trained on a range of machines. You will start as an operator, running the machines to produce products to a very high standard. As your confidence grows we will start to show you how to set those machines up, and finally teach you how to program them. The whole process takes 3-4 years.
  • Responsibilities - To start with a willingness to learn, work hard and listen. Your responsibilities will increase as you grow in the company.
  • Qualifications & Skills - A good level of practical maths is required, good communication in English and some level of mechanical engineering training would be an advantage.
  • What you offer - While training we will start you on the Governments minimum wage, as your usefulness grows so do your wages. We do not have an upper limit wage wise. Its up to you how far you go.
  • Career Development Opportunities - The job will grow with you. Our current Workshop Manager was an apprentice only 8 years ago!! If you are that good we will promote you and pay you what you deserve.
  • Workplace Culture - Friendly, and relaxed, would describe our workshop. We are currently implementing ISSO 9001 so continually improving the company to a new level.

  • Candidate - We are looking for a local young person to train, we have a very good record in training young people into engineers. You will need to have your own transport as the local public transport is poor.
  • This job is NOT open to overseas inquiries
    As an apprentice we offer full training in our CNC workshop, which should lead you to becoming a competent CNC machine tool programmer within 3-4 years.
    We have 20 CNC machines and make a wide variety of parts for many different sectors. We are currently implementing ISSO 9001.
