We are looking to recruit an Apprentice General Operative & Yard Labourer at our Cadishead site in Manchester. Full training in the role will be given, and apprentices will be working towards achieving the L2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative apprenticeship standard.
Scope of role:
· To have an all-round understanding of the operations needs of the depot, including the group H&S requirements.
· To have a good product knowledge and be able to work alone and as part of a team in order to achieve the depots objectives
Key responsibilities:
· Ensure all of your areas are picked correctly and on time
· Ensure picking notes are completed correctly
· Check & complete all loading manifests correctly
· Ensure vehicles loaded & unloaded efficiently
· Look for continuous improvements in your area
· Ensure that stock is identified & returned to the correct bin location
· Report any issues that may affect certified stock / chain of custody to the area Foreman
· Ensure that the Goods Returned procedure is adhered to
· Record and report any damaged or poor quality materials to the area Foreman or relevant Product Champion
· Ensure all stock is rotated
· Ensure that you are being fully optimised at all times
· Load & unload vehicles as directed
· Need to be flexible and cover any other duties as requested, assisting in other areas & driving (where qualified)
· Perform any reasonable requests from the Operations Manager, unless is compromises Health & Safety
· Ensure that you are adhering to company policies at all times
· Report any training requirements to you area Foreman
· Ensure that H&S is being adhered to at all times
· Report any H&S issues to the Operations Manager
· Work in line with Safe Systems of Work
· Ensure the highest levels of housekeeping at all times
· Report any relevant environmental issues to the Operations Manager and consider the environmental impact of any actions we take
