Job Description We are seeking an Apprentice Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanic to join our team in Wee Waa, NSW. In this role, you will be trained to provide high‑quality mechanical maintenance across all LDC Cotton Ltd mobile plant and vehicles. This includes carrying out repairs, managing on‑call breakdowns, supporting engineering projects, and ensuring all work meets company standards and Australian compliance requirements. You will maintain a strong focus on workmanship, safety, and continuous improvement, while working within all LDC Cotton policies and procedures and contributing to business goals. Industry specific and on-the-job training is provided which will result in formal qualifications along with the opportunity to further develop your skills after the apprenticeship has been completed. Key responsibilities will be but not limited to: Perform mechanical repairs to a high standard. Complete Work Orders within R&M systems. Support continuous improvement and change‑management processes. Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards. Travel to remote sites as required. Promote and uphold LDC values: Safety, Teamwork, Excellence, Integrity. Supporting team capability. Qualifications Essential Skills & Experience Demonstrated commitment to safety and awareness of health and safety risks in industrial environments Genuine interest in developing a career as a qualified heavy diesel plant mechanic Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to safely use hand tools Willingness to learn and work within a team environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills Positive attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges Desirable Skills Basic understanding of ginning or agricultural processing machinery (advantageous but not essential) Demonstrate a genuine interest in gaining your trade qualifications.
