By aligning these key teams, the Hub creates a streamlined, joined-up approach that makes processes simpler, more efficient, and easier to navigate for both staff and managers. The Immigration Team provides clear, practical advice and guidance to prospective recruits, current employees, and line managers. They help navigate the complexities of employing international staff, offering expert support on visa requirements and ensuring compliance with immigration regulations—making the journey smoother for everyone involved.    Apprenticeship summary To learn to provide proactive administrative support in the Central Staff Hub, working as part of a team or on own initiative.   You will have the ability to manage your work without needing to refer to others for most of your time.  You will learn to carry out the administrative aspects of the University’s immigration processes for staff. This will include supporting the provision of advice to the University community in managing compliance with sponsor duties, supporting the development of systems and processes to enhance compliance and ensuring that appropriate documentation is obtained and effectively retained.    You will be able to develop a wide range of skills, both technical and administrative, and may also have the opportunity to lead on specific tasks within a team.  During this apprenticeship you will learn the following duties: 1. You will act as a first point of contact to provide accurate and timely information and advice to internal and external customers and stakeholders on University processes and procedures relating to immigration compliance for staff, answering queries promptly, providing guidance, documentation and resolving queries from initial contact to resolution. This will include recognising when queries need to be referred elsewhere or escalated.  2. To ensure that right to work checks are carried out and appropriate action taken within UKVI timeframes and guidelines 3. Regularly communicate relevant information to colleagues and external contacts. 4. Provide administrative support for diary or event planning. 5. Process data (which may be financial, HR, student-related or other), monitoring accuracy, inline with immigration policy, chasing up missing information, and escalating any issues as appropriate.  6. Carry out finance reconciliation process for UKVI sponsorship costs and ensure monthly RBS payment card deadlines are met 7. Use a variety of complex University systems and processes to research, manipulate, analyse and interpret sets of data, and produce routine reports.  8. Maintain working relationship with key stakeholders, fielding queries, receiving and dealing with any disputes or complaints and resolving promptly. 9. Offer advice and support to others on staff immigration matters.  10. Review processes and tasks and proactively offer suggestions for improvement and sharing best practice as appropriate.  11. As required, provide a professional secretarial service to relevant committees and meetings.  12. Treats everyone with dignity and respect in line with current equality legislation. 13.
