ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic Apprentice Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Engineering team at Amazon Filters. In this entry-level role, you will work alongside experienced engineers, learning how to maintain our bespoke manufacturing equipment which is used to produce our filter cartridges and filter housings, whilst also studying for a recognised qualification.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to take the first step in their engineering career. Completing this three year course of study alongside the gaining of on the job training, will open up a pathway of progression within the business. You will be working alongside our talented and experienced engineering team who will ensure that you gain the required skills and knowledge to allow you to develop into another valuable member of our Engineering team.
The apprenticeship that will accompany this role is the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Standard Apprenticeship at Basingstoke College of Technology, where the successful candidate will be required to attend once a week. We will work with the college to tailor your course pathway to ensure these skills will further aid your development within our Maintenance engineering team. Throughout your apprenticeship you will be given a clear programme of support to with regular check ins, coaching and mentoring.
This role is a 37.5 hour working week with the working pattern of Monday - Thursday 08:00 -16:00, Friday 08:00 – 14:00.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance checks on all manufacturing equipment.
  • Help diagnose and repair machinery breakdowns under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve our existing manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Assist with the implementation of new production machinery.
  • Help other members of the engineering teams with their projects and day to day challenges as and when required.
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations and ISO standards.
  • Complete mandatory online and practical training as part of the apprenticeship.
