During this four-year program you will obtain all of the skills needed to be a New York State certified Journeymen Mechanic. NYS Mechanic Apprenticeship Program. TYPICAL ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES During your four-year (8000 hour) apprenticeship, Company paid college classes required along with gaining experience observing tasks on the floor and progress to hands on experience with repair and troubleshooting. This will lead you to journeymen certification. Areas of focus during the apprenticeship include: • Blueprint reading, Service Manuals, Understand Geometric Tolerance • Welding Types, Vertical, Horizontal, Overhead, Pressure Vessel, introduced to Brazing and silver soldering • Hydraulics Training, Trouble shoot a Hydraulic problem, Uses and can Read Hydraulic Schematics • Pipe fitting and plumbing, Can Identify Pipe Fittings- High Pressure Steel VS Malleable, demonstrate ability to Thread Two Different Size Pipe, Pipe Sealer Needs to be used on Hydraulics, Steam, Water, Gas • Boilers, Boiler controls, Safety Alarms, how to trouble shoot boiler issues • Furnaces, Startup and shut down procedures, Adjusting Burners with gas and air mixture controls • Tube bending, Plan, Layout and execute a job, understand how to do Complex bends i.e., Elevation and Direction • Rigging, can perform Crane inspection, understand how to use lifting straps all types, Plan a complex lift (Uneven load requiring more than one device) • Laser alignment tool training Requirements QUALIFICATIONS – • Must be at least 18 years of age EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE • High School Graduate or GED • Interpersonal Skills • Problem Solving and Analytical Skills • Time Management Skills • Teamwork and Collaboration • Ability to Cope with Stress PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds • Be comfortable working elevated heights on ladders and/or scissor lifts • Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts • May be exposed to wet or humid conditions • May be regularly exposed to high noise environments • May be exposed to extremely dusty and dirty environments • May be exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process Revere offers a full range of benefits, including profit sharing and stock ownership.
