Description:
We are currently seeking an apprentice plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in onsite coordinating, installing and completing smaller projects either on their own or with other team members. The responsibilities of an Apprentice Plumber include reading P&ID’s, assembling new potable/wastewater treatment plants, commercial buildings in Calgary / Edmonton, handling tools, and cleaning job sites.
Successful Apprentice plumber will be well-organized and detail oriented. You should have good customer service skills, be able and willing to follow instructions and be prepared to travel to different job sites.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Years of experience combined with education, designations or certifications.
- 1-2 years’ experience in installation or maintenance.
- Registered in the apprenticeship program.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Valid Driver’s License and Safety Tickets. Current 3-year driver’s abstract required.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Organized and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to meet job requirements with little daily supervision. Ability to organize and maintain accurate equipment files. Excellent attitude toward workplace safety.
- Computer knowledge & skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good Mechanical Aptitude.
- Must be a positive team player with a strong work ethic.
- Operator tickets such as Telehandler, Aerial Work Platform and Skid Steer would be considered an asset.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Locating and identifying leaks.
- Repairing or replacing pipes and parts.
- Determining the right tools and equipment necessary to successfully complete a job. Assisting with preparing cost estimates for clients.
- Helping the Journeyman Plumber to ensure that all work is in accordance with local plumbing codes. Cleaning the job site after the work is completed.
- Following the Project Manager/Plumbers’ instructions.
ACCOUNTABILITY AND DECISION-MAKING:
- Scope and magnitude of financial, budgetary, cost, employee responsibility and decision- making.
- Issue PO’s to field contractors as required for on-site services. PO’s to be approved by Terra office.
