  • Sufficient literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to use IT applications in relation to the requirements of the post including excel, Microsoft word,outlook

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively advise and support senior officers, with confidence to challenge where appropriate based on evidence.
  • Good organisational skills to be able to manage competing demands

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

To provide clerical assistance to the Registration Service Manager/Superintendent Registrar in the provision of registration services to the public

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use a range of computer packages e.g. typing letters in word, inputting data onto spreadsheets and registration databases
  • Account for cash transactions/ daily reconciliation of certificates and sales transactions.
  • Cover reception as required.
  • To provide a high standard of customer care and ensure that all information is kept secure and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Register marriages, civil partnerships as per legal requirements by direct personal questioning and accurately recording this in both written and electronic records
