ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Roofing Apprentice, you’ll be working alongside highly skilled roofers who will teach you all areas of the trade. You’ll get real, on-the-job experience across:

  • Pitched and flat roof installations
  • Tile and metal roofing systems
  • Roof maintenance and leak repairs
  • Safe removal and replacement of damaged sections
  • General site setup and clean-up

This role is ideal if you like being outdoors, enjoy physical work, and prefer learning by doing rather than sitting behind a desk.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your daily work will involve a mix of hands-on tasks, training, and teamwork, such as:

  • Assisting with the setup of job sites, including preparing tools, materials, and equipment
  • Removing old roofing and helping install new systems
  • Learning how to identify roof damage, leaks, and structural issues
  • Using hand tools and power tools safely and correctly
  • Following health and safety requirements at all times
  • Working as part of a crew to keep the site organised, efficient, and safe
  • Taking guidance and feedback from senior roofers to build your skills

We’re not expecting you to know everything — we’ll teach you. What we do need is someone who brings the right attitude and willingness to learn. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • A strong work ethic and reliability — we need people who show up on time and give their best effort
  • An interest in building and construction, or simply a desire to learn a trade
  • Good teamwork and communication skills — roofing is never a one-person job
  • Physical fitness and confidence working outdoors in all weather
  • Comfort with working at heights (full safety training is provided)
  • A current Australian driver’s licence (essential for travel to job sites
