Apprenticeship – Sheet Metal Worker. UGL Fuels & Energy East are excited to bring to the market an apprenticeship opportunity in the Engineering – Fabrication Trade stream. Kicking off in January 2026 and based on Curtis Island, you will be learning your trade in a major hazardous facility which will give you exposure to a broad range of learning and trade-based skills. This opportunity will see you join a highly experienced team with a reputation for delivery, working together for our customers to develop and provide solutions. To be considered for the role, ideally you will possess the following attributes: · Demonstrate a willingness to learn and successfully complete a 4-year apprenticeship · Have a good level of Mechanical aptitude · Be ready to study and commit yourself to the required training · Have strong communication skills, listen to instructions and ask questions where necessary In addition to the above attributes, the following qualifications and experience would be highly regarded: · Construction Industry Induction (white card) · Driver’s Licence and the ability to make your way to and from the ferry terminal · High risk work licence Higley regarded · Basic measuring & mathematics skills · Ability to pass mechanical aptitude test Please include in your application the following: · Up to date resume – outlining your experience, schooling, work experience · Written reference outlining your work ethic and ability to work in a team environment (this could be a previous employer, work experience host, sporting group or volunteer work) Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to attend a written aptitude test which will then be followed by formal interviews. Please note a rigorous pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening will be conducted for successful candidates.
