This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience developing real software solutions while studying towards a fully funded degree-level qualification in conjunction with The Open University - https://business.open.ac.uk/apprenticeships/digital-technology-solutions-degree Key Responsibilities What You'll Be Doing Working alongside experienced Software Engineers, you'll: Collaborate with the development team to design, code, test and debug software applications Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency Collaborate with talented engineers in an Agile environment Contribute ideas and build proof-of-concepts for innovative new products Gain exposure to the full software development lifecycle from design through to deployment Continuously enhance your technical skills by learning new programming languages, tools and methodologies. Attend training sessions and workshops as required Technical Skills & Requirements Competency Requirements What We're Looking For You don't need industry experience—we're more interested in your potential. Requirements Educated to A Level standard (A Level or BTEC in Computer Science or related field) Basic understanding of one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C# or Javascript Curious about how things work and eager to solve problems Familiarity with development tools sich as Git, IDE’s (eg. Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ), package managers, YAML CI/CD pipelines Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies such as Agile or Scrum Appreciation of current AI technologies and practical experience using AI-assisted tools to support software development, problem solving, or learning A strong communicator who enjoys working with others Benefits & Opportunities Why Join RDT?
