Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive in education? King’s Bolton is offering an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join us as an Apprentice Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in the classroom while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Responsibilities

As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will support the learning, development, and well-being of pupils, particularly those with Special Educational Needs or disabilities, under the guidance of teaching staff. You’ll assist with preparing and adapting learning materials, working with small groups or individuals to reinforce teaching, and promoting engagement and independence. A key part of your role will be contributing to behaviour support strategies, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and providing feedback on pupil progress to help shape classroom practice.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll help maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organised environment while collaborating with staff, families, and external professionals to support holistic pupil development. You’ll also engage actively in training, participate in school events, and commit to your professional growth in line with the Trust’s People-Centred Leadership strategy. A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, including adherence to Keeping Children Safe in Education, is essential.
Further Details: 37 Hours per Week Mon-Fri - Term Time Only. Salary is paid monthly across the full year.
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in education and a willingness to learn and grow. In return, we’ll provide a structured training programme supported by our apprenticeship provider BeReady, where you will be working towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification. In addition to ongoing support from experienced staff, and opportunities to develop professionally within a values-driven, supportive Trust. A strong commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and our People-Centred Leadership strategy is essential.
You mustn’t hold an existing qualification that is equal to or higher than Level 3 in the same occupational area (i.e. teaching assistant/supporting teaching and learning in schools) or a relevant degree in education or child development.
