As an Apprentice Technician, you’ll learn hands-on in a clean, professional shop while working alongside experienced technicians. Schedule Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Overtime is available No rotating shifts Paid holidays, no waiting period Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off, start earning day one Tool allowance and boot reimbursement Work Environment Hagerstown, MD Primary work environment is an indoor service and maintenance shop, with occasional field or outdoor work as needed Specialty work on fire trucks and ambulances Key Job Duties Assisting senior technicians with diagnosing and repairing fire trucks and ambulances Learning to inspect and service diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and air systems Performing preventative maintenance under supervision Helping with vehicle safety inspections and road tests Accurately documenting work performed, labor time, and parts used Maintaining a clean and safe work area and following OSHA and company safety standards Moving vehicles safely within the shop and yard Supporting team members as needed and learning best practices in emergency vehicle repair Requirements What we’re looking for: Interest in a career as a diesel or emergency vehicle technician Mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience, through school, training, or entry-level work High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to pass pre-employment screening Who Does Well Here People who want to learn and take pride in their work Team players who are dependable and show up ready to learn Individual who enjoys problem-solving and hands-on work Technicians who value clean shops and doing things the right way Work Environment and Physical Demands This role includes standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing.
