ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a dedicated team committed to maintaining and enhancing our community’s sporting facilities. We pride ourselves on delivering top-tier cricket wickets and support facilities that serve as a benchmark for quality and excellence.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to embark on a Turf Management Apprenticeship, focusing on the preparation and maintenance of cricket wickets. Under the guidance of the Service Coordinator Turf Wickets and experienced Turf Wicket Curators, you’ll gain hands-on experience while pursuing a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining turf wickets and practice facilities to the highest standards.
  • Identify and manage turf pests and diseases.
  • Implement contemporary turf management and irrigation practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records related to turf management activities.
  • Participate in training across various horticultural disciplines.

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following:

  • A genuine interest in turf maintenance and a commitment to completing a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
  • Prior experience in related fields is advantageous but not essential.
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence (required prior to commencement).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and the public.
  • Willingness to engage in both on-the-job training and formal education components of the apprenticeship
