Description
Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN). For a European Research project, the engineering team shall develop enhanced capabilities of its products to adapt them to the defense requirements in the context of the battlefield. In this context, we develop applications based on AI/ML on the RIC (RAN Intelligent Controller) to retrieve RAN configurations, configure and retrieve RAN measurements reporting, analyze them, integrate external information or commands and then determine actions on the RAN such as configuration modifications or commands to the scheduler of the radio resources on the air interface.  For Jamming mitigation, the application shall configure the RAN to report the appropriate radio measurements and key performance indicators, retrieve the current RAN configuration, shall process the data, identify the interferences and characterize them and then propose appropriate near-real time or semi-static corrective actions to improve the quality of service of the network. For electromagnetic footprint reduction, the application shall determine the position of the devices and configure the network to optimize the transmission at the position (direction / distance)  of the device to limit unnecessary emission in the other directions
Responsibilities
Develop AI/ML applications for the RAN Intelligent Controller to improve 5G network capabilities in battlefield environments. Focus on mitigating jamming and reducing the electromagnetic footprint through data analysis and network configuration.
