Job Details Job Location: 100 EAST AVE - NORWALK, CT Position Type: Internship Education Level: Graduate Degree Salary Range: $1.00 - $2.00 Commission Job Shift: Any Description Mid-Fairfield Community Care Center is seeking Interns enrolled in an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) program to join our team. This internship provides an excellent training opportunity for students interested in child psychiatry and the range of programs offered within our community mental health clinic. Bilingual students (Spanish or Creole) are highly valued. Interns will gain exposure to: Pediatric assessment and psychiatric evaluation Common pediatric psychiatric diagnoses Safety considerations and monitoring related to frequently used pediatric medications In addition, interns will observe and participate in: Pediatric medication management appointments Providing psychoeducation and parenting feedback Assisting with the development of treatment goals Interns will also gain a deeper understanding of working with clients who have neurodevelopmental disorders and learn strategies for connecting families with community resources to promote holistic care. Qualifications Must be enrolled in an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) program Internship hours will vary based on academic program requirements and as agreed upon by the on-site supervisor. The agency operates Monday–Wednesday (9:00 AM–8:30 PM), Thursday (9:00 AM–6:00 PM), and Friday (9:00 AM–5:00 PM). The intern’s schedule will align with their primary supervisor’s availability. Thursday attendance is strongly recommended to participate in intern seminars, trainings, and multidisciplinary team meetings. Interns will shadow APRNs during psychiatric evaluations and medication management sessions with a diverse population. Interns will not be responsible for independently entering information into the electronic health record (EHR) system. Complete all required documentation as directed by the supervisor.
Responsibilities
