OUR OPPORTUNITY

IP Australia is looking to fill an AP6 Workforce Insights Officer role to join our team of HR data professionals. We are looking for an innovative and forward-thinking HR data professional to support IP Australia’s decision makers by providing insightful and strategic reporting and analytics.
The role will directly contribute to workforce planning activities, HR strategy development and implementation and HR projects. We are looking for someone with experience in analysing and interpreting HR data, a thirst for learning, a good dose of curiosity, and an open mind to brainstorming and thinking outside the box. Our workforce data and insight team is working on a number of exciting projects directly with the business areas of IP Australia to support a ‘future ready workforce’.
Specific roles and responsibilities for this Workforce Insights Officer include the following:

Internal Workforce Reporting:

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely production of a suite of strategic HR reports, HR dashboards and workforce scorecards for internal stakeholders
  • Conduct data analysis to inform workforce planning, provide the HR narrative in relation to workforce initiatives and support decision making on HR solutions
  • Providing strategic workforce insight to the executive, including investigation and analysis of data to inform identification and problem solving for potential workforce risks
  • Contribute to projects such as APS Employee Census.

External Reporting - prepare and provide data for:

  • The Australian Public Service Commission
  • inclusion in the annual report
  • inclusion in senate estimate briefings
  • remuneration survey; and
  • actuarial enquiries.

General:

  • Undertake ad-hoc projects and data requests as needed
  • identify reporting anomalies and rectify or escalate as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain procedures and other guides.

Demonstrates attitudes and behaviours responsive to workplace change

  • Improves organisational performance through effective engagement with risk within relevant sphere of influence
  • Establishes clear expectations and creates an environment to achieve stated goals and objectives, takes ownership and honours commitments

We are looking to fill this position on an ongoing basis. Future positions may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis subject to operational requirements. Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 12 months.
At the end of the recruitment process, a merit pool of suitable candidates may be created. Those found suitable will be advised that they have been placed in the pool. The merit pool is valid for 18 months from the date the process was advertised. The merit pool may be used throughout the period to fill similar positions in the event positions become vacant.
