Responsibilities

The Property Services and Logistics Team within the Chief Financial Officer Branch is responsible for creating a safe and practical working environment for Treasury employees, providing a centre of expertise for property management. The team delivers support across a range of corporate governance, policy and administrative activities. Property services provided to the Treasury include:

  • Property management.
  • Property services related procurement and contracts.
  • Domestic leasing.
  • International leasing administration.
  • Financial management of property operating expense budget (including invoice payment).
  • Strategic property planning and mandatory Commonwealth reporting.
  • Coordinate accommodation minor works.
  • Delivery of new office fit-outs.
  • Facilities management.
  • Provision of office furniture, equipment and office consumables.
  • Oversee the management of the mail and freight handling services.

Treasury Property Services manages the Department’s Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) outsourced property services provider in dealing with day-to-day operational activities.

The Senior Property Officer is responsible for the delivery of wide variety of services to ensure the Treasury tenancy is fit for purpose and provides a safe and comfortable environment for all staff and visitors to the building. The role includes a diverse range of activities which may include:

  • High-level client services and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to building relationships, particularly with internal stakeholders and outsourced providers.
  • Deliver in house property services such as mail, meeting room set ups, pool vehicle management and logistical services.
  • Management of major and minor assigned property fit-out projects under the direction of an Assistant Director.
  • Provide support to Assistant Director delivering Strategic property planning and mandatory Commonwealth reporting.
  • Manage sub-contractors and the outsourced services provider contract, including performance management against KPIs and service level standards.
  • Provide support to Assistant Director delivering domestic leasing services.
  • Provide support to Assistant Director delivering International leasing administration.
  • Manage facilities requests logged with the property services providers helpdesk and follow up through to completion.
  • Provide technical knowledge in specialist areas of property and facilities management functions and an ability to provide technical advice to the Assistant Director.
  • Provide input to strategic direction for operational delivery of facilities services and ability to develop and maintain asset/facilities management plans and programs.
  • Oversee procurement processes to engage contractors to deliver fit out works, ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
  • Other tasks as directed.
