THE OPPORTUNITY

Both senior level and intermediate level aquatic biologists are encouraged to apply. This position will be responsible for both leading and supporting aquatic field programs, while providing technical support to project managers.
Responsibilities, depending upon specific candidate experience level, as well as specific hiring location, may include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Provide technical leadership on the aquatic biology components of our projects within a team-based environment.
· Manage, plan, and lead aquatic programs.
· Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of works and deliver quality reports on schedule.
· Liaise with client representatives and contractors.
· Provide quality and independent reviews for projects.
· Some field work could be anticipated, being dependent upon specific candidate experience level and hiring location.
· Provide an understanding of environmental Best Management Practices and advise clients accordingly.
· Work collaboratively within the Triton corporate culture.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

· B.Sc. or M.Sc. in biology, environmental science, or related field
· Technical knowledge in aquatics and fisheries biology
· Appropriate professional designation such as an R.P.Bio. is preferred, especially for more senior level candidates
· Minimum 2 years working within the environmental consulting industry sector, and specifically within the aquatic biology discipline
· Strong understanding of the Federal Fisheries Act and other Federal and Provincial environmental legislation
· Strong technical writing, reporting, communication, team leadership, and project management skills
· Previous relevant aquatic field work experience is considered an asset.
· Experience with environmental monitoring and/or environmental inspection
· Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style
· Superior problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box
· Valid driver’s licence from a Canadian province or territory, acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting
