The Aquatic Scientist Co-op with LGL is a great opportunity to gain experience and learn from a well‑respected, and industry‑leading research organization. The successful candidate will work as a member of our existing office‑based team to fulfill existing and upcoming project obligations. Successful candidates will gain exposure to building client relationships, positioning project pursuits, and professional designations (e.g., RPBio), where they can find mentorship from within the company from those already with professional designations. Individuals with qualifications beyond those described below are also encouraged to apply. This position will be hired initially for a four (4) month contract with the potential for extension. What You Will Do

• Complete field programs along with other technical staff and field supervisor in freshwater and marine environments
• Complete quality and completeness checks on field data
• Contribute to technical reports
• Prioritize safety in all tasks

What You Will Bring

• Minimum of two years of post-secondary education in an environmental field
• Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation with the College of Applied Biologists as a Registered Biology Technologist in Training or a Biologist in Training, or equivalent accreditation, is an asset but not required for this Co-op/intern position
• Knowledge of water and/or sediment sampling techniques
• Works safely and dependably both alone and as part of a team
• Excellent knowledge of the MS Office suite; R programming skills are an asset
• Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
• Willing to take on new challenges and responsibilities
