AQUATICS COORDINATOR

Trico Centre for Family Wellness has an exciting, full time permanent position as an Aquatics Coordinator within our facility! The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Aquatics Director in the day-to-day running of the pool and assisting in the development and growth of programs and services related to the Aquatics Department. The Aquatics Coordinator must demonstrate and promote a strong understanding and appreciation for the mission, vision and goals of Trico Centre. This position is critical in ensuring that optimum safety standards and procedures are met, practised, and adhered to. This position requires a flexible schedule of days, evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post-secondary education in Physical Education, Recreation, Kinesiology or Sport Management and/or experience is a definite asset
• Minimum 2 years staff supervisory experience and minimum 4 years’ experience working within the aquatics field
• Current National Lifeguarding (NL) and Lifesaving Swim Instructor (LSI) Certification
• Swim for Life Instructor trainer would be an asset
• WHMIS Certification
• Pool Operator Level 1 and 2
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR “C”/AED Certification required
• First Aid Instructor Trainer Certification would be an asset
• Solid understanding of the Lifesaving Society Aquatic programs
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
• Trico Centre will initiate a comprehensive criminal background check for all new hires. A previous check will be accepted provided it is dated within the past 6 months.
• Computer Experience in Word, Excel and Recreation software

BUDGET PREPARATION

• Assists the Aquatics Director in the development and management of the aquatics department annual operating and capital budget
• Assists the Aquatics Director in researching and seeking out pertinent information for new equipment and services for the Aquatics department
• Assists the Aquatics Director in researching new ways to increase revenue and enhance customer service within the aquatics
• Runs new employee orientation program for new hires
