Description Position Summary As the Aquatics Manger you will directly impact our member’s love for swimming, while aiding pool safety. As the Aquatics Manager, you will help oversee all programs in the Aquatics Department. The programs include Swim Lessons, Swim Team, and more. You will ensure the department is safe and successful in operations and finances. You will fulfill the role as one of the Swim Team Coaches and help manage swim team websites and communications, fulfill the role as a lead swim instructor, and be a lead lifeguard with lifeguard shifts. You will also assist with pool operations, including but not limited to all aspects of the pump room, maintenance and repairs, cleaning, and chemical testing. Requirements Detailed Description: Swim Team Coach and administrator: - Fulfill the role as one of the year-round Swim Team Coaches. - Communicate operational problems to the Aquatics Director. - Handle all administrative work including meet entries, parent communications, practice routines, etc. - Travel to all meets. - Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. Help Manage and Instruct Swim Lessons: Oversee the Swim School program and teach swim lessons. Lifeguard: - Be a lead lifeguard. - Assist in training and managing other lifeguards. - Have regular lifeguard shifts. - Enforce BWC Pool rules and policies to ensure the safety of all swimmers. Create new programs and activities that help to achieve yearly financial goals and create excitement for the members. Operations (shared with Aquatics Director): - Ensure that all appropriate water health and safety standards are maintained. - Oversee the maintenance of the pools, including chemistry, climate control, cleanliness, and related maintenance. - Ensure overall cleanliness of the pool areas, including but not limited to, the pools, pool decks, locker rooms, and pumproom. - Communicate operational problems to the Aquatics Director. Ensure the operating budget is maintained without compromising safety. Create a friendly, positive customer service environment through employee training and oversight. Oversee the daily operations of the indoor and outdoor pools and spa in meeting the required standards in service, staffing, equipment, programming, and cleanliness. Ensure a safe environment for all participants regarding all pools and pool areas. Be responsible for other duties that arise. Requirements Experience coaching swimmers at varying levels, from beginner to advanced. Experience teaching varying levels of swimming lessons. Lifeguard certification or able to obtain within 30 days of hire. Supervisory experience Strong computer, organizational, and record-keeping skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with swimmers, parents, and Aquatics staff. Status: Full-time position (eligible for benefits).
