Arabic Linguist for an immediate opening
Primary Location: Tysons Corner, VA
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI required (CI polygraph eligible upon hire)
Clearance Status: Must be current and active
Schedule: Full Time; 40 hours per week
Travel Required: As needed (domestic and/or international)

Position Description:
The Arabic linguist will perform translation and transcription from Arabic to English as well as interpretation for the US Government.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hardcopy formats that not only contain facts but also some abstract language showing an ability to capture intended implications and many nuances.
• Generally capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text. Word choice and expression generally adhere to target language (TL) norms and means of expression specific to subject field(s) and are strong enough to allow translator to operate successively in that field.
• Format translated documents from Arabic to English and vice versa in the same manner as original(s)
• Review audio or internet materials, transcribes with high degree of accuracy and expression.
• Must attend any requisite DoD training immediately upon hiring.

Qualifications:

• TS/SCI Clearance
• Native level Arabic language proficiency
• Fluency in English; Reading, writing, and speaking
• Must possess computer skills; including MS Office, to be able to produce written translations and products in addition to sufficient internet skills that will allow basic research on the Web.
