Job Description This position is intended for a candidate seeking growth opportunity in a dynamic organization. The Associate Underwriter will join a specific business unit, as assigned, and will receive ongoing on-the-job training in their line of business. The Associate also will be part of the company’s Early Career Program. The Early Career Program Underwriting Track is a one-year training program geared toward ambitious college graduates looking to launch a high-performing career in underwriting with a world-wide insurance leader. During the one-year program, associates receive specialized training that can position them for career advancement and valuable industry certifications. This is a hybrid role with a three day on site expectation each week based out of the Alpharetta, GA office. Job Responsibilities As the Associate develops skill and gains experience, on-the-job responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Markets Arch products and services to wholesale and retail brokers Underwrites and prices new and renewal accounts, including financial and exposure analysis Reviews policy contracts, ratings, and claims Binds new and renewal accounts in alignment with underwriting philosophy and strategy Provides responsive service to brokers and customers Desired Skills Highly proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook Exemplary oral and written communication skills Analytical thinking to assess underwriting issues and risks Proactively manages tasks and prioritizes competing deadlines Displays leadership potential and initiative in role execution Required Education/Experience Four-year degree desired, preferably in Economics, Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field
Responsibilities
The Associate Underwriter will market Arch products and services to brokers, underwrite and price new and renewal accounts, and provide responsive service to brokers and customers. As they develop skills, they will also review policy contracts, ratings, and claims.
