Archaeologist On-Call
Pacific Northwest (WA, OR)
ICF seeks On-Call Archaeologists for Crew Chief and Crew Member levels for our Pacific Northwest region (based in Seattle, Portland, or Central Oregon). The On-Call/Temporary Archaeologist will initially be working on a large pedestrian block survey in north-central Oregon expected to run for 2+ months, working 8 days on - 6 days off field schedule. This project is expected to start in mid-to-late May. Single occupancy hotels will be provided for 8 day rotations as well as transportation to and from Seattle/Portland/Central Oregon, if needed. $68 per diem is also provided for working days. Additional work after this survey is available and would primarily include fieldwork, with tasks including construction monitoring, survey, testing, evaluation, and data recovery. However, other duties could include laboratory analysis, conducting background research, report writing, and other tasks as assigned. This position requires excellent field skills, the ability to identify precontract and historic-period artifacts, and taking detailed field notes. ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Ability to hike up to 10 miles a day in rugged terrain.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with ICF staff and construction personnel
• Strong knowledge and familiarity with computers, smart devices, and completing data entry in application interfaces (such as ArcGIS Collector).
• Experience in precontact or historic-period archaeology of the Pacific Northwest
• Ability to conduct field visits at locations in Seattle and throughout the Pacific Northwest
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy a must.

• Ability to conduct field visits at locations in Seattle and throughout the Pacific Northwest
