Description:

General Responsibilities:
As a Field/Lab Scientist with Terracon, you will be responsible for assisting with archaeological field investigations and laboratory analyses. This position may also require assistance with other environmental consulting projects as assigned. The candidate must be able to work in physically demanding field conditions and frequent overnight travel will be required.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • In accordance with company procedures, prepares reports for relatively simple projects, making appropriate recommendations as necessary.
  • May assist more senior level Scientists on larger, more complex projects.
  • Under the direction of a Principal Investigator, performs site visits, field observations, and field data collection and/or other field assignments.
  • May serve as team member in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
  • Evaluates laboratory and field data and helps compile it for written reports.

Requirements:

  • B.A or above in Anthropology
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
