MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture plus one year of professional architectural work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, provided that the minimum degree requirement is met

Responsibilities
  • Reviews architectural plans and designs for construction and renovation projects of varying size, scope, and complexity to ensure adherence to established design criteria and requirements
  • Conducts field site visits to ensure conformance to architectural plans and project time schedules, and to make or approve design changes
  • Meets with departmental staff, developers, other architects, general contractors, and consultants to determine and/or revise scope of work, design, and technical specifications for moderate scale construction or renovation projects
  • For new multi-family construction and rehabilitation projects provide reviews of design and construction drawings, specifications and contractor bids to ensure compliance with department architectural design and technical standards, federal, state and other City standards
  • Establishes timelines, implements processes, and monitors the progress of assigned projects
  • Leads internal design reviews with developers, architects, general contractors, and other city departments. Communicates meeting outcomes to attendees
  • Reviews general contractor change order request packages for accuracy and consistency with department policy and provides feedback and recommendations on reviewed requests
  • Prepares analysis and related reports on the status and costs of architectural projects
  • Tracks and maintains required documentation for assigned projects
  • Respond to general inquiries from the public by phone, letter, and email
