For a temporary assignment at the Max Planck General Administration, Department of Research Building and Infrastructure, Berlin location, we are seeking an

Architect or Construction Manager (m/f/d).

Location: Berlin. 

Working hours: Full-time, 39 hours/week.

Project duration: As soon as possible - December 31, 2027.

Responsibilities:

- Regional support for the Max Planck Institutes in all construction-related matters, as well as consulting and support for construction projects

- Taking on project control and project management tasks for large and small construction projects and building maintenance

- Controlling and coordinating costs, deadlines, quality, project organization, and participating project partners

- Acting as the client, including decision-making and directive authority within the scope of assigned tasks

- Participating in the planning, tendering, and commissioning of architectural and engineering services

- Technical review of construction, planning, and execution documents

- Organizing and leading planning and construction meetings, as well as ongoing project documentation

- Cost and schedule control, including cash flow and scheduling, and change management.

- Support during construction handovers, warranty and defect claims, and processing of inspection findings.

Qualifications:

- Completed university degree in architecture or civil engineering (Dipl.-Ing. (FH), Bachelor) or a comparable qualification

- Experience in project management and/or project leadership of construction projects

- Knowledge of construction, procurement, and public budget law, ideally also of HOAI and AHO

- Proficient in MS Office, ideally also MS Project

- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented work style, as well as strong organizational and communication skills

- Sense of responsibility, assertiveness, and decisiveness

- Excellent German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
