To be an ambassador for CKA (CK Architectural Midlands) working towards the company’s vision and objectives. The job location will be based at our Birmingham office, visiting various sites across the midlands, training at our head office and working from home when required.
As a Senior Designer you will be involved with projects from conception to completion. You will meet with potential clients with a keen, respectful, and positive attitude. Provide designs and ideas in line with the brief and known budgets. Produce planning and the building regulation drawings/submissions. Develop and create build ready drawing packages. Oversee the design processes, planning, building regulations and project completion via project management.
10 years’ experience of UK planning
10 years’ experience of UK building regulations
10 years’ experience of UK residential building design
Fully proficient on AutoCAD
Ability to produce accurate existing plans, concept designs, Planning Applications drawing/Design Statements, Building regulation compliant drawings
Literate on all Microsoft software packages
Knowledge of other architectural sectors a bonus
Provide on site advice and feasibility report for design/planning/building control/cost
Manage and develop technicians
Attend initial meetings, provide advice, take the brief, and describe/promote our services.
Design with the knowledge it can be built and is within budget
Take detailed measured survey’s suitable for yourself or delegated technicians to drawing from.
Produce design drawings and liaise with client in person or by email to conclude the design.
Write and administer contracts, work schedules etc
Stay within estimated/contracted time where possible
Prepare plans for planning, building regulations and Building/construction.
Work on your own and utilize the support team wherever possible.
Maintain a good relationship with clients before during and after the project.
Solve issues where possible and keep the client in a happy opinion of CKA Midlands
You will be covering the Midlands area of the country, Birmingham, Nottingham and Leicester.

Salary £42,500 pa - £52,000 pa with a company car
You will report directly to Chris Lawson (Owner and Director)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £42,500.00-£52,000.00 per year
