As a seasoned macOS Architect, you will lead the engineering and automation efforts across a large-scale enterprise environment. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust solutions for over 15,000 managed macOS workstations. As a subject matter expert, you will drive innovation in macOS systems architecture, device management, and automation, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise infrastructure and security standards. Primary Responsibilities: Architect and maintain scalable macOS infrastructure aligned with business objectives and security policies Lead automation initiatives using modern scripting languages and tools to optimize macOS management workflows Design and implement device management strategies leveraging Jamf Pro, Apple Business Manager, and related technologies Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver secure, reliable solutions Provide Tier 3 support and technical leadership to Level 1 and Level 2 support teams Troubleshoot complex issues within macOS and Jamf environments Stay current with Apple ecosystem updates, macOS trends, and emerging enterprise technologies Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, workflows, and automation processes Participate in on-call rotations as required Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 7+ years of experience in macOS architecture and enterprise administration Proven expertise in creating macOS imaging and upgrade workflows using Jamf Pro Deep knowledge of Jamf Pro and Apple Business Manager, including deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, or AppleScript for automation and tooling Proven excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior staff Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing Entra ID-joined macOS devices in enterprise environments Experience supporting environments with 15,000+ endpoints Knowledge of macOS security technologies and hardening best practices Familiarity with cloud platforms and alternative database systems At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
