We are looking for a visionary Enterprise Architect focused on Data and AI to shape, govern, and provide strategic oversight of enterprise architecture for data and artificial intelligence. This role enables the responsible, scalable, and value-driven adoption of AI technologies across Rio Tinto.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Strategy and Architecture and working in a collaborative community within our global Enterprise Architecture division you will:

• Shape and guide Rio Tinto’s enterprise Data & AI architecture strategy, supporting responsible adoption, innovation, and operational excellence
• Define and champion enterprise-wide principles, frameworks, and standards for data and AI
• Provide strategic oversight through Technology Design Authority (TDA) forums, ensuring alignment with architecture and compliance expectations
• Guide the ethical, transparent, and secure adoption of AI, aligned with privacy, regulatory, and data governance requirements
• Foster innovation by enabling the adoption of emerging technologies — including agentic AI systems, foundation models, orchestration frameworks, and advanced analytics — to drive automation, insights, and agility
• Promote architectural excellence across performance, scalability, resilience, and modernization of data and AI capabilities
• Build and manage strategic relationships across time zones with stakeholders from Data and Analytics and key business areas
• Support measurable value delivery through architectural KPIs, governance reviews, and benefit tracking
• Mentor and influence technical teams and fellow architects to build a culture of responsible innovation and architectural maturity
