POSITION SUMMARY:
ACS is seeking an Architectural Job Captain to join our Cincinnati office. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact projects for nationally recognized retail, restaurant, and hospitality brands. You’ll work collaboratively across disciplines to deliver thoughtful, brand-driven architectural solutions.
EDUCATION & LICENSURE:
· 4 year degree in Architecture or a related program.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· 2+ years of United States architectural experience working under a licensed architect in a design or production role (retail, restaurant, hospitality or senior living preferred, not required)
· Strong proficiency in both Revit and AutoCAD
· Skilled in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and rendering tools (SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Lumion)
· Attention to detail and strong understanding of wood-frame construction and building codes
· Excellent written and spoken communication skills
· Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and collaborative mindset
· Developing presentation and project management skills
· Able to independently create accurate and detailed construction documents with minimal supervision
· Responsible for assigned tasks and components of projects with limited direction.
· Conduct site surveys of existing spaces.
· Prepare design and construction drawings.
· Review code requirements for specific issues
· Consult with manufacturers, research and evaluate materials.
· Coordinate with engineering consultants, communicate project requirements and schedules, and review their drawings.
· Research requirements for plan review submittals to the authorities having jurisdiction and preparing those submittals.
· Assist in construction administration including preparing responses to RFIs and submittals, preparing sketches and addenda, visiting the construction site to gather information and/or preparing a punch list.
· Maintain project files. Compile record CD file of drawings at project milestones. Document all communications with outside parties. Document and distribute project information to appropriate team members and outside parties.
· May direct junior team members on tasks.
· Provide information, developmental support and training to team members. Utilize established office training processes and procedures designed to expand the knowledge and enhance the skills of the project team members.
· Minimal travel required for site visits and meetings
