As we continue to bring to life award-winning venues and experiences our EMEA Practice is looking for an Architectural Designer based in our Putney studio.

KEY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Professional degree in Architecture or Urban Design
  • Some years of experience in a professional design practice
  • Experience in masterplanning projects is a major plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in English
  • Proficiency in Rhino and Adobe products, Revit is a major plus
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role sits within our Urban Design studio. You’ll work closely with all departments of Populous in a growth-oriented environment. You’ll take on ambitious design tasks, manage and present your work, play a key role in ideation, and collaborate with disciplines both within and outside the practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Concept Development & Masterplanning – Assist in the development of masterplan concepts and urban design strategies at various scales, ensuring a seamless connection between architecture, landscape, and urban spaces.
  • Design & Visualization – Produce high-quality design outputs, including diagrams, 3D models, visualizations, and presentation materials to effectively communicate urban design ideas and narratives.
  • Collaboration & Coordination – Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, landscape designers, wayfinding specialists, and events teams, to integrate urban design concepts into large-scale projects.
  • Technical Documentation & Reports – Support the preparation of reports, drawings, and other technical documentation, contributing to project development across different design phases.
  • Digital & Computational Design – Utilize software tools such as Rhino, Grasshopper, and visualization programs to develop and refine design solutions, incorporating emerging digital technologies where applicable.
  • Research & Innovation – Stay informed on topics such as future cities, crowd dynamics, mobility, sustainability, and user experience, applying insights to enhance project outcomes.
  • Project Management Support – Assist with time management, deadlines, and project organization, ensuring high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Support internal and external presentations, helping to articulate urban design concepts to clients, consultants, and collaborators effectively.
