Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a uniquely qualified Architectural & Structural Draftsperson with proven senior-level capability across design, drafting, project management, and pre-construction coordination. The ideal candidate will be deeply proficient in multi-platform BIM software, project delivery from early concept to contract administration, and must demonstrate a minimum of 15 years’ progressive experience across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
This is not an entry-level or drafting-only position. The selected candidate will directly support our leadership team on complex, fast-track construction projects, acting as a key contributor across design, compliance, contracts, tendering, and technical drafting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate design concepts into working drawings, specifications, and contract documentation suitable for tendering and construction.
  • Prepare detailed architectural and structural drawings using software such as Revit, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, and SpaceGASS, ensuring accuracy and coordination across disciplines.
  • Assist in the development and modification of building designs in accordance with project requirements and stakeholder input.
  • Interpret and apply relevant building codes, planning regulations, the National Construction Code (NCC), and AS/NZS standards in all drafting and documentation tasks.
  • Coordinate documentation and design details across architectural, structural, and engineering consultants to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Support the preparation and review of documentation for Development Applications (DA), Construction Certificates (CC), and Occupation Certificates (OC).
  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and statutory authorities to facilitate design compliance, approvals, and project delivery, with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in site inspections, prepare site instructions, and incorporate field changes into as-built drawings.
  • Manage drafting work for Design & Build projects, providing full lifecycle support from initial concept through to construction and completion.
  • Maintain organised records of project drawings, revisions, and documentation throughout the design and construction process.
