Reporting to the Design Manager you will be a key member of the Design and Drafting Team and responsible for set tasks within the documentation phase of the project.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Generating comprehensive working and construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring precision and adherence to the specific requirements of restoration
2. Drafting schedules for works and material finishes e.g. window and door schedules.
3. Utilising 3D modelling techniques to provide realistic visualizations of architectural designs, aiding in the approval processes and client presentations.
4. Ensuring all designs and documents comply with Australian Standards, codes of practice and BCA/NCC, focusing on the unique demands of restoration.
5. Performing thorough checks on drawings for dimensional accuracy and
completeness, updating plans in response to feedback from site inspections or regulatory changes.
6. Adapting designs based on feedback from project leads, ensuring all alterations are captured in updated drawing sets.
7. Supporting the drafting and design of detailed bespoke elements unique to traditional restoration, enhancing the aesthetic and structural integrity of the projects.
8. Uploading and issuing drawings via document registers as required on projects.
9. Assist in the compiling and submission of operation and maintenance manuals.
10. Be a good communicator and provide support to the project teams, including but not limited to Project and Site Managers as required.
11. Engaging in continuous professional development.
The Ideal Candidate must possess the following:
At least 1 year of full-time experience as an Architectural Draftsperson or similar role. At a minimum a Diploma in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management or related field (experience in heritage architecture is highly desired).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit (minimum 1 years Revit a must and at a high skill level).
Demonstrate ability to read plans and understand construction details.
A sound understanding of construction techniques and what is constructible. Strong awareness of design systems, processes and technology.
