The opportunity
Our multidisciplinary design and technical advisory team is part of Mace’s consultancy technical services. Our design team includes architects, architectural technologists, engineers, urban designers, master planners and interior designers. We deliver projects nationally for both public and private sectors including government departments, local authorities and private developers.

Mace is currently recruiting qualified architects for our central government team to support our lead designers in the delivery of their projects consisting of new builds, extensions, remodels and refurbishments with project values between £500k and £250m. The role is UK based and we welcome applications from all UK regions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develops and manages pre-construction design
  • Provides technical advisory role post tender
  • Seeks opportunities for continuous improvements/improving working processes. Develops effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manages stakeholders.
  • Provides designs and manages the developing design as per contract requirements.
  • Collaborates with the wider design disciplines, client personnel and construction teams.
  • Assists with the production of reporting information.
  • Attends/participates in client meetings and design workshops as necessary.
  • Monitors work outputs to ensure it is timely, in scope and of a quality expected.
  • Engages with business improvement directives. Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and shares responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of technical and statutory regulations
  • Demonstrates Revit proficiency
  • Demonstrates ISO 19650 knowledge

About you
You are Part 3 qualified, ARB or ICAT registered. You are digitally savvy, especially in using BIM and Revit software and can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams. You will have experience in public and private sector projects in a multidisciplinary design team within consultancy technical services background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
