POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Architectural Draftsperson / Technologist who is proficient with SoftPlan and has a strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code. This position will begin as a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension and/or transition into a permanent role. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant drafting experience and will be responsible for preparing accurate construction drawings, collaborating with our design team, and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, or a related field.
· Minimum 2 years of drafting experience in architectural design.
· Proficiency in SoftPlan and AutoCAD (experience in residential/commercial projects an asset).
· Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC).
· Experience in preparing permits and construction drawings.
· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.

· Produce detailed architectural drawings and construction documents using SoftPlan.
· Ensure all designs comply with the Ontario Building Code and municipal by-laws.
· Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients as required.
· Revise and update drawings based on feedback or site conditions.
· Maintain accuracy, organization, and attention to detail throughout all project phases.
