About the Program The NCIA internship is a 6-month program based at one of our key hubs in The Netherlands, Belgium or Portugal. Our internship opportunities start from either 1 March or 1 September with the start date being dependent on the timeline to secure the required security clearance to work within the NATO community. During an internship, you will join and support a diverse international team and simultaneously learn from our experts via on-the-job training, working independently on purposeful projects or initiatives during your tenure. About the Internship Internship duration: 6 months Location: Brussels, Belgium The Chief Technology Office (CTO) is the key enabler of NATO’s digital transformation. This office is a cornerstone for the NCI Agency’s work to advance NATO’s information communications technologies (ICT) that are critical to maintain NATO’s technological edge. With NCI Agency's scientists, architects and engineers, CTO is the hub for architecting and designing NATO’s ICT technical landscape while considering innovation, standardization, and coherence across the Alliance. Architecture Governance Intern As an Architecture Governance Intern, you will assist in ensuring that enterprise architecture practices align with organizational standards, policies, and strategic goals. You will collaborate with architecture and IT teams to support governance processes, document compliance, and contribute to architecture decision-making frameworks. This internship provides hands-on experience in enterprise architecture management, policy compliance, and strategic technology planning, preparing you for a career in IT governance, digital architecture, or enterprise strategy. Additional activities and opportunities: Support development and monitoring of architecture standards and frameworks. Assist in preparing reports and dashboards for architecture compliance review. Participate in cross-functional meetings to understand technology decision-making. Learn best practices in IT governance, risk management, and strategic planning. About you: The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role is: Business administration: Performs routine administration activities in a structured environment. Future Opportunities In support of the NCIA strategy to hire, train and retain exceptional talent the NCIA Internship Programme embeds a performance management process throughout the 6 month internship to provide high performing interns with the opportunity to continue their internship experience after their internship is successfully completed in a paid post at G8 equivalent at the duty location for 6 months to a maximum of 24 months. There is no guarantee that the internship can transfer to an Internship Temporary Personnel (ITP) as the funding is aligned to business priorities and objectives.
