Reporting to the National Director of Formation & Purpose, the Archives & Heritage Lead - QLD will bridge the gap between our rich 19th-century origins and our mission. This is your chance to move beyond the archive boxes and animate history through creative exhibitions, tours, and digital storytelling that resonates with all our staff from clinical teams to executive leaders and inspire current and future generations. Based in Brisbane, this is a permanent part-time opportunity working 22.5 hours per week. Key responsibilities of the role: Be a Guardian of History: Manage and document the archives collection in line with professional preservation requirements and archival principles. Animate the Mission: Develop activities such as exhibitions, displays, tours, and publications that enhance the understanding of our heritage and the mission of the Sisters of Charity. Collaborate for Impact: Partner with the Formation & Purpose team to support mission formation activities and ensure our legacy remains accessible to staff and the broader community. Curate and Research: Respond to archival access requests from diverse functions within the organisation (Communications, Fundraising, Executive) and undertake research to enhance the context of our records. Future-Proof our Records: Plan projects for digitisation and long-term preservation while overseeing the management of onsite and offsite storage facilities. Things that work for us: Comprehensive understanding of archival principles and preservation requirements for both documents and museum collections. Proven capacity to research and communicate St Vincent’s history in an engaging manner to diverse audiences. Ability to work effectively with stakeholders, including the Sisters of Charity Heritage Centre and internal Mission teams. Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role (or significant professional experience) and eligibility for membership with the Australian Society of Archivists.
