Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) specializing in Electrical/Mechanical systems to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing electrical and mechanical aspects of our projects, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Supervise and coordinate electrical and mechanical works on various construction projects
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable standards
  • Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and method statements related to electrical and mechanical systems
  • Collaborate with the project team to resolve technical issues and implement effective solutions
  • Monitor project progress and prepare detailed reports on electrical and mechanical works
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and project-specific requirements
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to maintain project timelines and quality standards
  • Participate in project meetings and provide expert advice on electrical and mechanical matters
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover processes for electrical and mechanical systems
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures for all electrical and mechanical installations
  • Analyze project data and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and performance

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical and mechanical systems inspection and management
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles
  • Proficiency in using various inspection tools and equipment
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of Sewage Treatment Plant systems and processes (preferred)
  • Familiarity with local UAE and international engineering standards
  • Professional engineering certification (e.g., PE) is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of project management principles
  • Experience working in the UAE or Middle East region is advantageous
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to work on-site and travel as required for project inspections
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
