Your Impact at ROEST As a Product Development Engineer at ROEST, you won't just be designing parts; you'll be shaping the experience for thousands of coffee professionals worldwide. We're looking for someone who is hands-on, creative, and ready to tackle complex challenges in a fast-paced, innovative environment. What You'll Be Doing This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in every stage of development. Here's what you can expect to be working on: Design, develop, and test a game-changing new electrical coffee roaster. Project start Q3 2026. Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Solidworks (or other tools) for prototyping and manufacturing. Collaborate directly with the production team to implement and refine DFM/A principles. Build and validate physical prototypes to rigorously test new concepts and technologies. Participate in the full product lifecycle, from initial ideation and sketching to mass production and support. Key Responsibilities Leading the design, development, and validation of new hardware products. Optimizing existing product lines for performance, cost, and reliability. Collaborating with cross-functional teams (production, customer support, R&D). Researching and integrating new technologies and engineering solutions. Must-Have Skills & Experience Master's degree in product development or 7+ years of industrial experience Proven experience leading products from concept to launch. Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems. Proven experience in product development, from concept to production. High proficiency in 3D CAD software Strong understanding of DFM/A (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) principles. Experience applying project management methodologies in a development context. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience Experience with Computational fluid dynamics to solve complex tasks. Experience with thermal management simulation and design. Prior experience in the coffee industry or with food processing equipment. Leadership experience or mentorship of junior engineers. Understanding of electrical engineering principles for product integration. A genuine passion for coffee and the technology that perfects it. Highly motivated and comfortable working both independently and in a team. A collaborative spirit, eager to work with cross-functional teams. An innovative mindset, always curious and looking for better solutions. Work Arrangement & Location This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Oslo, Norway.
