THE OPPORTUNITY:

West Liberty University is seeking applications for an Area Coordinator in the Residence Life Department. The Area Coordinator plans, organizes, directs, and oversees various aspects pertaining to the day-to-day operations and coordination of assigned student housing area. The area coordinator is responsible for managing student conflict, crisis response, residential management, programing, staff, staff and student development in the residential facilities. Is responsible for managing/ participating in the First Year Orientation and Welcome Week as well as department staff development, training, and selection and coordinating staff programming throughout the department. This is a Live-in Position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.
  • At least two years’ experience of relevant experience in field to include student employment experience.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of computer-based systems such as Microsoft office and Google Office Programs.
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff and students from all departments on campus.
  • Networking skills to help in collaborations with off campus organizations
  • Commitment to student success and inclusive practices.
Responsibilities
  • HOUSING FACILITY MANAGEMENT/ RESIDENCE LIFE STAFF SUPERVISION:Supervises/ Oversees residential facilities and the residential hall directors and resident assistants within those facilities.
  • Fitness Facility Management: Manages/Oversees fitness facilities as well as scheduling of Resident Assistant staff and fitness events and activities.
  • Residential Engagement: Manages staff and residential programing, event marketing. Record keepers for all managed facilities, individual and informal programs and all other associated programs.
  • Social Media: Coordinates all social media platforms and maintains an active presence.
  • Scheduling: Manages scheduling of staff for campus activities and admission hours.
  • Staff Development: Overseas and conducts hall director training, RA training, hall director selection and RA selection.
