* Location: Medicine Hat & Lethbridge, Alberta Hotels: Holiday Inn Express & Suites Medicine Hat & Holiday Inn Lethbridge Reports to: Regional Director of Sales / General Manager Travel: Regular travel between both markets required as well as Calgary and Edmonton Position Summary The Area Corporate Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic development, solicitation, and management of Local Negotiated Rate (LNR) and corporate accounts across both the Medicine Hat and Lethbridge markets. This role focuses on generating consistent, year-round base business by securing preferred corporate partnerships, maximizing room night production, and increasing market share for both properties. The ideal candidate is a proactive hunter with strong relationship-building skills, local market knowledge, and a results-driven approach to outside sales. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales * Prospect, solicit, and secure new LNR and corporate accounts in key segments including: * Energy & industrial * Construction & project crews * Agriculture & food processing * Healthcare * Government & municipal * Education * Transportation & logistics * Develop and execute quarterly and annual sales action plans for both markets * Conduct regular outside sales calls, site visits, and client meetings * Identify and target companies with consistent room night needs * Actively participate in RFP season and manage corporate rate negotiations * Meeting Broker: Complete all daily RFP checks and submissions accurately and on time, without exception. * HG Sales Calls: Participate in all scheduled IHG sales calls, follow instructions, and complete assigned actions promptly. * IHG/WHG Training: Maintain full compliance with all required training modules. * Blitz Participation: Attend and actively participate in all Blitz calls, whether by phone or in person. Account Management •    Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers •    Conduct annual account reviews and production tracking •    Maximize account share and upsell opportunities •    Ensure contracted rates are loaded accurately and monitored for compliance •    Maintain a healthy pipeline and account portfolio Revenue & Strategy •    Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize LNR strategy and pricing •    Analyze market trends, competitor intelligence, and account production reports •    Support forecasting and budgeting processes •    Work closely with both hotels’ operations teams to ensure service delivery meets brand standards Networking & Community Engagement •    Represent both hotels at local business events, chambers, industry associations, and trade shows •    Develop partnerships within both Medicine Hat and Lethbridge business communities •    Increase brand visibility and market awareness Administrative •    Maintain accurate records in CRM/sales system •    Prepare weekly activity reports and monthly production summaries •    Track goals and KPIs ________________________________________ Qualifications •    2–5+ years hotel sales or corporate B2B sales experience (hospitality preferred) •    Proven success in prospecting and closing new business •    Experience managing LNR or negotiated rate accounts strongly preferred •    Strong knowledge of the Medicine Hat and/or Lethbridge markets considered an asset •    Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills •    Self-motivated with strong time management •    Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems (Opera/Delphi/Concerto or similar) •    Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required ________________________________________ Key Competencies •    Hunter mentality •    Relationship builder •    Results-focused •    Strategic thinker •    Organized and independent •    Strong follow-through and accountability ________________________________________ Performance Metrics •    LNR production growth •    New account acquisition •    Total room night production •    Revenue targets •    Sales activity levels (calls/appointments) •    Market share growth ________________________________________ What We Offer •    Competitive base salary + bonus/commission structure •    Travel reimbursement •    Benefits package •    Professional development opportunities •    Opportunity to directly impact revenue growth across two strong regional markets Type of Supervision Required Reports to the General Manager, Area Director of Sales & Marketing, and Regional Director of Sales and works under minimal to no supervision.  The Individual has complete responsibility to take whatever action is deemed advisable or necessary, subject only to the policies or general rules laid down.
