Description Job Type: Part-time (under 30 hours per week) Locations: Harrodsburg, Payneville, and Ekron, KY — multiple school sites (travel required between locations) Are you energetic, passionate, and ready to make a difference? Healthy Kids Programs is seeking an Area Director to lead and inspire children and staff across multiple before and after school program locations and seasonal summer camp programming. This role requires flexibility, strong leadership, and reliability, as you will oversee programming at multiple sites and support summer camp operations. Travel between locations is required. Status: Part-time, non-exempt Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour Schedule & Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week in program (on-site) Approximately 10 hours per week of administrative work Total weekly hours: under 30 Program hours may include: Morning: 6:30 am – 7:30 am (before school program) Afternoon: 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm (after school program) Additional hours may be required during summer camp operations Featured Benefit: Employer-Paid Childcare Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 5–12) enrolled in our program during the hours you work. Key Responsibilities Oversee and support multiple Before and After school program sites across locations, along with summer camp operations Plan and guide implementation of daily activities, enrichment, and homework support Ensure all sites maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment Supervise, coach, and support site staff to ensure high-quality program delivery Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, company policies, and school guidelines across all locations Communicate with families using the Playground App and assist with program events Support enrollment growth and community outreach initiatives Complete administrative responsibilities including scheduling, reporting, and program coordination Travel between assigned sites to provide in-person leadership and support Requirements Transportation & Travel: Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Must have reliable personal transportation Must be able and willing to travel between multiple program locations Education and Experience: All candidates must have the following: Must be at least 21 years of age. Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent documentation from a recognized educational institution, such as: Kentucky Home School Certificate Transcript showing date of graduation Verification of graduation from another country Letter from a Board of Education confirming completion Note: A Commonwealth Child Care Credential does not meet director qualification requirements. TB Skin Test or Health Professional Statement free from TB. Candidates must meet one of the following: Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education and Development. Associate’s degree or higher in another field (including pastoral care and counseling), plus either: 12 hours of child development training (TRIS record accepted), or Three years of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program following Department of Education guidelines, an early childhood development program (e.g., Head Start), or a licensed/certified childcare program (including certified home providers). Experience must be documented by written letters from previous employers showing full-time employment dates Director’s Credential in Early Childhood Development, plus one year of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program, Head Start, or a licensed/certified childcare program (including certified home providers). Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, plus one year of verifiable paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program, Head Start, or a licensed/certified childcare program (including certified home providers). High school diploma, plus three years of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program, Head Start, or a licensed/certified childcare program (including certified home providers).
