EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor"s degree in engineering or a related field (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience;
  OR
  14-17 years of relevant field engineering experience without a degree.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong understanding of technical engineering disciplines specific to heavy industrial construction.
• Extensive knowledge of field construction, cost control, scheduling, and contract administration.
• Familiarity with environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) protocols, including Client’s Core Processes and Zero Accident program.
• Experience in material management and project compliance.
• Proficiency in standard software applications: MS Word, Excel, databases (per Clients Standards).
• Working knowledge of current industry design and engineering standards.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Prior direct-hire field engineering experience on large-scale U.S. industrial or infrastructure “mega-projects.”

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES::

The Area Field Engineer for the Sulfuric Acid Plant (SAP) at Thacker Pass will provide specialized field engineering expertise focused on planning, material management, safety, quality control, technical inspections, and subcontract coordination. You will ensure engineering activities are safely executed, technically sound, and aligned with project quality standards and requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as lead engineer for the SAP area, coordinating cross-disciplinary field engineering functions.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to construction engineering teams, supporting their professional development and performance.
• Interface with design teams to resolve constructability issues.
• Oversee materials receiving and warehousing to ensure accuracy and availability of components.
• Manage quantity take-offs, forecasting, and reporting.
• Promote and enforce the project’s Zero Accident safety philosophy; ensure all tools and equipment meet safety standards.
• Coordinate with Construction and Startup teams to perform system walkdowns, support component/system turnover, and manage area turnover coordination.
• Review and approve inspection test plans (ITPs).
• Coordinate and review subcontractor submittals for compliance and quality.
