Spiritual Development — “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health, and church relationships · Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation in a parish community. · Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community. Leadership Development — “Equipping leaders, committee and staff” includes key volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting · Meet with volunteer leaders and area leadership on a regular basis. · Learn how staff recruit and train new volunteers to build a leadership team that reflects the community. · Learn and model excellence when it comes to what Young Life calls contact work, club, Campaigners, camping, and committee. · Develop a greater understanding of personal calling, giftedness, and ministry as a vocation. Resource Development — “Fueling the ministry” includes events, donor care, public relations · Assist staff in communicating ministry updates and progress with the area’s donors. · Observe and learn to network and develop strategic relationships with key adults in the community as assigned by supervisor. Direct Ministry — “Proclaiming and modeling” includes contact work, club, Campaigners and camp · Actively engage in contact work with students and adults as directed by the supervisor. · Help lead a team to plan and conduct a new or existing Young Life club and Campaigners ministry with excellence. · Help lead a team to implement a summer and school-season camping strategy for a ministry. Ministry Support — “Taking care of business” includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management and strategic plan · Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures and maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct, and time management. · Manage finances with stewardship, accountability, and transparency using the missionwide applications. · Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders, and donors for area records. · Provide clear, prompt, appropriate, and professional communication to all involved in ministry. · Perform other duties as assigned and congruent with gifts, experience, and the area’s needs. Training · Actively engage in training provided by local area leadership to learn and gain competency in ministry skills (e.g., Young Life’s contact work, club, Campaigners, camp, and committee). · Become familiar with area strategy and ministry health as assigned by the supervisor. Job Specific Working Conditions: Young Life California is seeking college-age people to join our team of interns for the 2025-26 school year. This exciting new Intern Experience is a 10-month paid internship where qualified individuals are placed to work alongside a College Director or Area Director in a thriving Young Life ministry in California. Interns can expect to grow in their knowledge of self, while developing their ministry and leadership skills. Interns will receive a stipend of $2000/month for 28hrs/week. Relocation costs and health benefits are not provided; housing arrangements will be assisted. Interns may have another part-time job. Responsibilities
Interns will assist in various aspects of Young Life's ministry, including direct ministry work, leadership development, and resource development. They will engage with students and adults, help plan events, and maintain communication with donors.
