Viva Energy’s Geelong Refinery employs around 700 people and supplies over 50 percent of Victoria’s and 10 percent of Australia’s fuel. The refinery can process up to 120,000 barrels of oil per day, manufacturing petrol, diesel, LPG, jet fuel, avgas, bitumen, specialty solvents for a wide range of industries. We are now seeking an Area Maintenance Manager to join our high-performing team. Job Description Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will lead the Area Maintenance Team to deliver effective maintenance within the production area ensuring utmost safety at all times. Provide leadership within the Asset and Operations Team to ensure the unit meets production targets. Direct Maintenance and Capital expenditure budgets. Manages major maintenance events and initiatives. Overall accountability for the maintenance execution process within the Production Area. Develop the annual Maintenance Business Plan. Resourcing the team with appropriately experienced and qualified team members. Periodic reporting of progress and matters requiring escalation. Demonstrated ability to manage unplanned breakdowns. Qualifications About you A demonstrable background in engineering and leadership position in chemical or hazardous material facilities. A technical qualification, ideally Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Applied knowledge of time, condition, and predictive based maintenance processes. Skills, knowledge, and experience in managing and delivering a complex change program. Demonstrated project management experience and track record in delivery that is on-time, within budget and meets quality standards. Demonstrated ability to create and deploy engaging process mapping and policy and procedures. Ideally you hold a solid engineering background with a proven capability to lead maintenance teams.
